Childhood fears

Don't even try denying that one have no fears at all, because I'm pretty sure no matter how tough or rough a person is, they still have their fair share of fears. Fear of losing someone important? or the most common one, fear of death. Even the superheroes like Batman admitted he's scared of death. I'm no exceptional. The stories heard from others aren't helping either as it only increase my number of fears.

Since young, I'm fear of heights. Yes, one'll probably laugh at that. I feel nauseous whenever I'm at high places. Even when riding escalators, I tend to stand inside. I also don't seeing things from the 2nd floor or other higher grounds for I've this thinking that by standing near the railings, the floor my suddenly collapse. However, I'm a fan of roller coasters. Ironic right? Well, the truth is I don't realize the height during the ride. With the speed, the rush, the adrenalin and screaming my hearts out, I eventually forgot about my fear of heights. :P

Besides that, I also have fear for insects. No matter the size, the number of legs or whatever, as long as they are classifies as insects, then yes, I'm afraid of them. The insect I fear most is cockroaches, flying or not flying, they are still scary. >.< I remember clearly about my first encounter with cockroach where I was still young and needed my mom to bathe me. I was at my hometown. They have this huge tub filled with water. That day, when bathing, I realize this brownish thingy on the wall of the tub. I did asked my mom what was it, and my mom just said it was nothing. "Oh well, since mummy said it was nothing, that means no harm touching it right?" That's exactly what I thought. Then boo, it's a freaking cockroach, and it can FLY. :O Ever since that day, I don't simply touch things, don't wanna repeat that incident now do we. I also fear of ants. I'll have this icky and "geli" feeling when there are lots of ants running around the table. Though one can just kill it within seconds for it's so tiny eeny miny, I'm still scared of them. Some are so big, and they can run fast. ewww...

Darkness was also one of my fears. I used to drag my younger brother every where I go, I feel safer knowing someone is with me. When my brother doesn't want to accompany me, I'll either threaten him or bribe him, such a bad sister I am. I used to tell him ghost stories to scare him into accompanying me. One day, we got in a fight because one of us didn't want to follow the other one. My parents scolded us for that. As a punishment, they locked us in the storeroom. We are completely capable of turning on the lights, but then at the moment the fear that my mom will punish us if we disobey her is more prominent than the darkness. Though, I had a hard time calming down my brother who was crying non-stop when I, myself was scared shitless from both darkness and the creatures who were said to be lurking in the storeroom. Eventually, I overcome my fear for darkness after listening to a speech. "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself", the only solution is to confront it, though it takes time to prepare oneself mentally and physically to face it, but the joy and satisfaction one obtain after overcoming it is the best feeling. :)

Discrimination lives within everyone

The meaning of discrimination is a treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit: racial and religious intolerance and discrimination.

Our country, Malaysia is a colourful nation, which consists of 3 different races, The Malays, Chinese and Indians. It's is important to work as one and eliminate all sorts of hard feelings against one another in order to avoid any unnecessary fights. However, it's undeniable that discrimination lives within each and everyone of us. Last week, my English teacher, Pn. Monica, brought us to watch a movie. The title of the movie is The Freedom Writers. I must say, the movie is really touching. It made me realize one thing, is that discrimination is like a second nature to us. We often discriminate others without us realizing. Though it's done unintentionally, we'll however offend someone or hurt that person's feelings.

Honestly, whenever we read newspapers on news about rape or robberies, which race will come into our mind first? Why do we sometimes feel extremely uncomfortable whenever there're people who have darker complexion and of different race around us? That's because we think that they are the caused of troubles. That alone can show that one is being prejudice. Discrimination will affect an individual's actual behavior towards a group and leads to the exclusion of the individual or entities based on logical or irrational decision making. We've no right to judge a book by its cover. Besides, we also have no right to assume all people of the same race are bad people just because some of them commit crimes.

Moreover, we also judge people by it's gender. For example, women are often looked down upon during the early years. Employers prefer to employ men over women as they think that men are more capable than women. Hence, women are only allowed to work in the kitchen. Furthermore, even in this modern era, sons are often paid more attention compared to girls. Some parents believe that they are the ones who will be carrying the family's name therefore they are more important. To them, they are the main priority. Nevertheless, women nowadays have proved that they are more than capable to handle things their own. There are many successful business women out there who are greatly respected by others.

Already gone

2 weeks of holiday had just passed.
I've to admit, I didn't do much during the hols.
Wanted to relax for the first week,
and then study on the next.
However, all my plans were disrupted.
On the second day of hols, around 6am,
where everyone was still sleeping soundly,
My mom got a call from aunty
who was taking care of grandma in a hospital.
Mummy was crying non-stop after the call,
my grandmother had passed away.
It's so sudden that I didn't believe it at first.
I mean, she was still fine the other day!

The journey back to home town was silent and sorrowful
as everyone was so caught up with their emotions
that hardly anyone wanted to talk.
Any topic about my grandma will easily brought tears.
Had spent a week in my home town,
preparing and helping for the funeral.

After coming back, I had followed my mom to her office.
to work as a part time data entry clerk for 3 days.
Some people will say that I'm too free.
but well, I wanted to earn myself some pocket money
instead of always asking from my mom. :)

Had neglected my group of friends,
only went out once with them during the hols. :/
Sorry peeps.
yeap, that's basically how I had spent my hols.

A letter to...

Inconsiderate Acts Of People

Dear editor:

As a Malaysian, I would like to point out a few flaws of Malaysian which is utterly annoying and frustrating. We all know, every man tend to make mistakes. It is unavoidable, but maybe, we can try to amend and avoid it and not the other way round. At young age, we're taught on how to be a honourable and respectable people through Moral and Civic subject, yet, why do some Malaysians still act like a group of unmoral people? Their 'I-don't-give-a-damn' attitude caused them to act recklessly and they don't feel sorry even if their act had caused inconvenience to other people. Let me list down some examples of inconsiderate act in our citizens.

Punctuality is very important in our life. It shows the commitment a person puts into their task and whether they are a responsible and trust-able person. However, we, Malaysians are well known for being unpunctual. Sad, I know. From meetings to dinners, there are always some people who will arrive late. One minute after the time stated is also counted as late. Some are so used to being late that they do not care about others who arrived early and have to wait for them. I understand that sometimes it is hard to estimate the time and the traffic conditions, but we can make preparations and depart earlier. If a dinner is being held at 7.30pm, instead of departing at 7.15pm, we can leave home earlier so that there's still time even if there is a traffic jam. With that, events can be started on time, and the hosts do not need to worry about latecomers.

Besides that, It is really rude to cut queues but that is what most Malaysians nowadays do. This act will leave a bad impression to those who are waiting patiently in the line. If it's urgent or they are running short of time, they can at least ask the people lining up before cutting queue, but no, they just acted like nothing happened and queue in, as if no one was lining up behind them. It is really annoying especially when you are lack of time. Moreover, some adults have abused their rights. They thought their older and wiser and that it is only appropriate that we, youngsters just let them cut in. I'm very disappointed in them, they are supposed to set a good example for us, and cutting queues is definitely not a wise act.

The next thing that I find very irritating is public smokers. The contents in a cigarette will cause lung cancer and affect one's health. Not to forget that us, second-hand smokers will be affected in more ways and faced higher chances of getting lung cancer than the smokers. It is not wrong to smoke in public, but do know that some people do value their lives and wanted to live a long life. It is really inconsiderate of them to smoke in places crowded with people, where there is no way to avoid them. So, smokers should have the tendency to at least find a place which is less people and open air. Smoking areas are built for a reason.

What I wanted to say is we Malaysians should reflect on our own behaviours and try to correct it before we comment on other people. We can't expect them to follow us if we're acting the exact opposite of what we asked them to not be. Like the slogan "One Malaysia", we should work together not the other way round. We should change for the betterment of ourselves and our country, then only we can achieve our dreams of becoming a developed country.

Thanks you.

The hopeful one.

You're My Motivation

It was our last week selling pizzas.
Finally! I can't stand seeing or smelling any more pizzas! ><
It was quite fun as 5 Batai was also selling bubble tea with us.
Both of the classes were shouting like mad to attract the students,
and I must say, the canteen is as noisy as the night market.
Our sales are quite good. I thought of suggesting a promo,
"A slice of pizza + A cup of bubble tea = RM5"
but I didn't. Don't wanna cause more trouble. xP
The sad thing is that we have to give 10% of our profit to the canteen,
for according to them, we stole their business. ==
Oh well, that's the treasurer's "business". :P

This morning, I attended the Blind Leading The Blind competition
held by the Lions Club. We were supposed to reach there by 6.30am,
which is very early for me, as I normally wake up at 9.00am on Sundays.

Was supposed to go with Joey, but she had something on suddenly.
No choice, I've to go without a partner, and in hopes to find one there.
Luckily, I found someone. His partner "ditched" him too. xP
It's kinda awkward as he is a guy,
and I don't really know him except the fact
that he sometimes plays badminton with us.
Moreover, to lead a blind, both parties have to trust each other,
not that I don't trust him, it's just.. I'm not close to him.. so yea.
Nevertheless, it's fun, I got to experience the feeling of being blind.
We should be grateful for our perfect eye sight. :)

Call Me Maybe

Another 29/30 days till Mid term exam,
I'm still not in the mood to study yet,
which made myself very worry.
Well, nothing much happened this week.
Had some misunderstanding with my friends
which caused me to feel really down..

It's not a big deal, but it caused my friends to piss off
which I didn't like it at all.
It's funny how such simple things can make one so pissed
but I understand, if I were in her shoes, I'd be pissed too.
But luckily, it didn't take long till we're back like old times. :)

Besides, I was absent last Thursday as I was down with flu.
I got to say, though the feeling of skipping school was nice,
the body ache and dizziness from the sickness was uncomfortable.
Not to mention the homework you got from being absent. ><

Okay, need to continue with my assignment. taataa.

What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger

Well, I must say, this week is quite a busy week.
The accounts project is out on Monday evening,
and so that means we're supposed to start doing it.
Pn. Sally wanted us to finish it a.s.a.p as according to her,
we can use the time to do revision for Mid Term Exam.
Yes, I do need that time to study,
but the project is not that easy you know, and it's killing my brain cells! ><
worse come to worst, there are other projects like Moral and Civic! D:
*sigh*

Anyway, our class is selling pizzas for the next few weeks! :D
Why so? because we need the money for our nostalgia page. xP
For your information, we need RM1100 for a page,
yeap, only one miserable page..
so we decided to sell pizzas to start off with our "fundraising" thingy..
The first day was a disaster..
The pizza delivery man came 5 minutes before our recess ended,
luckily we managed to sell all of it or else I'll kill that person! :/
Apparently, Domino's said they can't deliver it to us
if we use the Buy 1 Free 1 voucher,
so we got into a little "debate" competition.
There's where it took so long for the pizzas to come.

We've been selling for 2 days already,
and the sales were not bad,
though some students said it was quite expensive,
but they still bought it. haha..
Some of our teachers also support us by buying from us :)
Besides that, our class also had handmade crafts
which are really nice!
Hopefully we'll be able to earn the amount we need. :)

Go 5 Belianers! :D

Somebody That I Used To Know

My my.. school holidays are coming to an end! :O
Honestly, I'm not quite ready to go back school yet..
Not that I don't miss school, I miss my friends too..
but I'll miss my bed more!
I hate waking up early and prepare for school especially. ><
I'd prefer to go to schools that have night classes. *wishful thinking* xD
During the holidays, I usually wake up at 10am :P
Then I'll spend most of time in front of the television or computer,
if I'm too bored, I'll go to dreamland and meet prince charming!
Hahaha.. I'm crapping xP

#

My mom made a business trip to Penang.
Truthfully, I have never been to Penang before,
and I desperately want to go there for a visit
as I heard that local authentic food are quite yummy. True?
And yet again, I didn't get to go..
Maybe I should plan a trip to Penang with my friends! :D
heh..

#

Oh by the way, I'd like to recommend this movie to everyone! :D

This Means WAR

Watched with my friends the other day..
No doubt it's PG-18, we managed to watch it anyway.
Luckily the workers did not stop us,
but still, watch it at your own risk!

The film stars Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hardy.

Well, this movie is about two of the world's top secret agents
which are best friends who never let anything come between them..
until they inadvertently fall for the same woman. :O
It's all-out war between them,
as the two spies battle each other with high-tech surveillance,
advanced tactics, and an arsenal capable of bringing down a small country.
At the same time, she struggles with the difficult task of choosing
between two very different, but equally attractive romantic propositions.

It's a comedy, action-packed romance movie.
Both of the actors have very hilarious ways of showing their affections,
and with all the super cool/awesome/high-tech gadgets,
I'm sure that one will be entertained throughout the movie. xD

~ signing off.. ~

There's Just Something About You :)

Exam is overrrrrr!
Holidays are heree! *jumps jumps jumps*

Had a girls' night on Friday. :D
As usual, we went for movies, dinner and shopping.
In my case, it was a much needed getaway.
Ever since the beginning of this year,
all I heard about always revolves around the topic SPM.
The pressure increases everyday as days pass by.
I've cut down all the outings,
and resulted in neglecting my BFFs. :/
So, when my best friend asked me to go out with her the other day,
I just agreed. Thinking it was time for some catching up :)

#

Besides that, I went to the UK education exhibition on Sunday.
My mother, Cha Kie, her sis and I went there by LRT,
we were supposed to meet Azreena there,
She offered to fetch us there, but we wanted to sit LRT
as we seldom have the chance to use it.. :P
The exhibition started at 1pm.
UK's top 20 schools were present.
We went to some schools to enquire about the basics.
Like a lost puppy, I followed them to different schools..
Through that, I got to know some basic requirements we need
if we plan to further our studies there..
It's definitely an eye-opener to me. :)

Soooooo...
That's basically for the week, ciao~

Your Love Is My Drug

The picture says it all! :)

*gasp* Exam starts tomorrow!
and I haven't prepared yet! :S
Worse comes to worst, the first subject is History! D:
I must say, what a good subject to start off the exam week.

"Procrastination is the thief of time."
I do agree on the saying above.
I've tried to study, set an aim that I must achieve everyday,
but it always seem to fail.
"There's still tomorrow," I kept telling myself that,
and see what it leads to? Nothing.
To top it all, I've to burn the midnight oil to study what I've missed.
I just hope that my last-minute study will pay off :P

I shall study hard for this coming week
and get plenty of rest during the school holidays! :D
Though, I've a feeling that I'll be very busy during that time.
I've planned to go to the education fair
which is held on 10th and 11th of March,
continue my driving lessons, celebrate my friends' birthday
and the list goes on and on..
hopefully I'll have time to revise before school reopens,
as I tend to forget "everything" during the holidays. xP

Drama Freakssss :P

Due to Minggu Kokurikulum, all sorts of activities were being held.
The one which caught my attention was
the Form 5 Inter-class Drama Competition.
I wasn't interested in participating,
for I know that I'm not good in acting. xP
Our director, Carmen wanted everyone to participate.
The first thought that came into my mind was "I want to be a tree!"
Yes, funny much, but I'd rather act as a background than main actor.
I guess I'm just too shy. :P

If I'm not mistaken, our class had the most rehearsals,
but still, it doesn't mean we're the best.
For some reasons, the actors weren't cooperative during practices,
with the props and audience scattered everywhere,
the whole practice turned chaotic.
Luckily, with some nagging, shouting and scolding,
we managed to practice smoothly with the props and music
the day before the competition.

On the day itself,
I could feel that everyone was excited and nervous at the same time.
We're the 4th to perform, it gave us enough time to prepare
and calm our nerves.
I missed most of the play as I was busy at the PA room,
though, I must say:" Job well done Belianers! :) "
The play turned out way better than all the rehearsals,
and the feedback I got from are the classes were quite good.
Hopefully, with all the practice and hard work,
we could get Top 3! *fingers crossed* :D
Win or lose, it doesn't matter,
we are always THE BEST! xD

A Day Without You Is Like A Year Without Rain

Love is in the air, can you feel it? :)

Happy Valentine's Day and Friendship Day peeps! :D

"I'm not a princess, this ain't a fairytale."
I used to look forward to Valentine's Day.
Stayed up late just to prepare gifts and your present.
Sometimes, I'd be too excited to even fall asleep.
but, that was all last time.
Things changed, and so do people.
Even though we don't keep in touch,
I wish we're still friends :)

hearts.

#

It's already the 3rd week of February,
soon, my cousin sister will further her studies in Taiwan for 2 years. :(
I've many cousins, but she's the closest one.
Why? because I always feel that there's an age gap with the others.
Can't blame me, I'm the youngest granddaughter. :P

A picture of her brother, me, my bro and her! ♥

We all used to go to the same babysitter when we're kids.
According to our babysitter,
we used to "gang" up and "bully" her.. LOL.

My mom told me that I used to bite her when I was like 1 year+.
She was very chubby when she's little,
and I think that's the reason I bit her. :P
Sorry Jie! >.<
My mom would then received a call
right after my aunt picked my cousin sis up.
Nothing to deny, the teeth mark was there. Haha xD
These were all my unforgettable childhood memories.

I wish her all the best and may all her wishes come true :)
see you sis! :)

You're Amazing, Just The Way You Are.

7/2/2012

I was supposed to make good use of the 4 days holiday,
instead, I was slacking around. :P
I managed to complete my homework in school,
so mummy had no chance to nag me about it.

My brother wanted to buy a new bottle, specifically Nike bottle.
Why? Because his current one was spoiled.
Another reason was because of peer pressure.
Many of his friends are using it, not wanting to be left out, he want one too..
Kids these days..

Went to 1 Utama, Curve, and Tropicana City,
but still no sight of the modal he wants.
Disappointedly, he went to tuition,
whereas I followed my mom to visit my nanny :D
I missed her so much!
Used to go to her house during holidays to help her out and chat with her.
Now, with all the homework and tuitions,
I don't have much time to do so. :(

She had 2 grandchildren now, a boy and a girl.
The boy is currently 2 years old and staying with his parents in Melbourne, Australia;
whereas the girl is 11 moths old only.
Chubby, Pretty and Cute! ♥

She has just started to learn how to walk,
so she's all wobbly, but it's cute nevertheless. xD
Me like to pinch her chubby cheeks! Hahaha.. :P
My nanny, as usual, wished me good luck in my exams,
and encouraged me to study abroad,
as their education standard there are way better than here.
My mom is the decision-maker,
since she'll be paying for my fees,
so leave it to her to decide. :P

11/2/2012

I was supposed to wake up at 8am for badminton session,
however, as usual, I love my bed so much till I refused to wake up. xP
As a result, I couldn't have breakfast before the session. :/
On the way there, I was very hungry, but I couldn't complain,
for it's my fault that I was late, but mummy, knows me so well,
she brought me to the restaurant and bought dimsum for me xD
heh.. Thank you mummy!

Poh Suan's dad, an ex-national badminton player, came to join us.
As expected from a national player, no one is his match,
but everyone took turns to have a match with him :)
Moreover, uncle is very friendly and has a great stamina.
He played non-stop for roughly 2 hours! :O Pro!

After that, we went to a nearby restaurant to cool down and had lunch together.
It was kinda fun talking about each other's dreams and phobias :P
It was like, purely friends hanging out together, don't have to care about exams,
don't have to care about language and others..
Sadly, there's time limit for our short "bonding" time :(
Though I wish we can have regular badminton session every week,
so that we can have fun together and CHAT CHAT CHAT :P

Lastly, I want to use this opportunity to thank Ji Xian
for being such a great organiser and coach :D

Night Without End Article

Incident occurred at the Polar Ice-Cap
By: Sin Yee

An incident had occurred on the polar ice-cap at 12.15pm, I was instructed to follow the marines to rescue people. A highly confidential mechanism was stolen and we were told to retrieve the property no matter what happens.

As we neared the glacier, I saw a man armed with gun, who I assumed was the murderer, pointing the gun toward his 3 other hostages, waiting to fire any time. Among them was a girl, trembling with fear, one of the man was shouting something which I can't comprehend as we were located quite far from the scene. Suddenly, the murderer grabbed hold of the poor girl and jumped into a tractor and took off. A man failed to stop him and was shot in the process. We watched the tractor took off in full speed, spin and turned as if it was out of control and soon crashed into big rock. The murderer and girl escaped the tractor before it crashed and both fell into the crevasse. The tractor was in no shape due to the huge impact.

Sound of planes were heard, and we knew that the air force had came to the rescue. They were firing their guns towards the ship, in attempt to kill the villains. A man had threw a rope into the crevasse and jumped into it after that. We were shocked by his actions, thinking he was crazy. Me and the rest of the marines waited anxiously, silently praying that both the man and the girl would made it out safely. God was indeed on our side as we saw another man pulled the man and girl up. The murderer was left in the crevasse, dead.

Waiting Outside The Lines

Happy Dragon Year.
Gong Xi Fatt Chai. :D

Celebrated Chinese New Year in my hometown -- Pulau Pangkor, Perak. ^^
We departed early in the morning to avoid traffic jam,
but it didn't help much as we were caught in a major traffic jam. :(
A supposedly 3 hours trip was prolonged for another 4 hours.
Many times, my dad attempted to take a break at the R & R alongside the highway,
but whenever we saw the overly-packed restrooms, we decided against it.
Thankfully, after another 3 hours of torturing journey, we took a short break at Bidor,
which gave us enough time to refresh, have brunch and stretch our cramped muscles.

Bidor, is a small town in Perak.
It's well known for the duck-thigh-noodle available at the famous Pun Chun.
The restaurant is located on the main street.
'Sat Kai Ma' - a type of sweet dessert and also 'Kai Jai Peng', which is the chicken biscuit,
are the must-buy items every time we went back. :D
At the morning wet market, there is a whole row of stalls, serving breakfast.
It 's also famous for the wanton mee.
Moreover, Bidor is also famous for its juicy, seedless guava and its durian.

We arrived our destination at 12pm and were greatly welcomed by our relatives there.
Spent a wonderful week with my cousins who mostly came from Singapore.
I don't get to see them much, once a year,
so we used this chance to know each other better.
Gambled, chit-chatted, beach-walking and list goes on and on..
I shall visit them the next time I go to Singapore for vacation :D

For some reasons, we've add maths project this year.
Teacher asked us to use recycle materials to make a modal.
I think the first group to finish it was Carmen's group.
They did a great job, the structure is simple yet nice. xD

Shi Hui, Chee Yee and I went to Chia Min's house for the project.
It's not as easy as it seems, we spent roughly 4 hours to complete the structure.
Like some said, you won't be hungry if you're in Chia Min's house :P
yes, indeed. Her parents are so generous.
2 extra large pizzas, home-made jelly, fruits, home-made cookies...
and they asked whether we wanted more foods or not. LOL :D

I went home early because mommy said she wanted to go for a badminton session.
Even though the session lasted for only 2 hours,
covered in sweats, I was exhausted, but I felt refreshed in a way.
That's why I prefer exercising than going on diet to keep myself healthy and fit. :P

I think that's all for this week. Ciao~

One Step At A Time

"It's 2012 already!" :O
Come to think of it, time does fly, really fast.

Here comes the critical year..
Even though my conscious keeps reminding me to prepare for SPM,
somehow the mood is not there.
Heyyy, don't blame me kay? It's just after year-end school holidays.
Plus, I can't help it especially with all the sales and promotions going on. :P

SPM plays an important role in our future,
especially if we want to apply for scholarships to well-known colleges.
Born in an average family, going to college is quite a burden to my parents,
The subject I wanted to study cost a bomb..

"Study according to our budget, not your dream."
In order to pursue my dreams and go to my dream college,
I'll have to strive harder! :D
Hopefully, I will succeed. *fingers crossed*

#

heh.. I'm officially 17 years old! :D
I know there's nothing to brag about,
but I want to use this chance to thank my friends for their presents,
supports, and for being such good listener whenever I've problems ;)

Hopefully, we all will go to the same college :P
but I know that's near to impossible,
but I do hope that our friendship will last forever and ever and ever... :D
hearts.
